The fleet got a late start, 2:30PM! By then the wind, 16kts to 19kts (measured at 12 noon) had dropped but still it stayed above 6 all afternoon and you could occasionally plane. An approaching cold front brought darkening skies and a little light rain but didn't stop us intrepid sailors, and the conditions made for interesting races. A huge fleet of Hawaiian canoe racers gave us something to watch besides each other.

Heat was not an issue. The conditions were perfect, not too hot and more wind than usual for Del Valle. Camping was good too, no conga durmmers like last year!

Weather was terrific! 15-18MPH wind, sun, and warm water and (due to a low tide) a wide beach too! I wish we had some pictures but everyone who was there wanted to get on the water!
Mark was not leading at the weather mark in the last race (having overstood) but masterfully turned South after having rounded and sailed into East-flowing current and greater wind to enable him to catch up with Glenn who sailed the staid straight course from the weather mark to the reach mark. Well done, Mark.
